We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Tri-Community Greenway yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Tri-Community Greenway
This is a pretty good protected bike trail. It’s brand new, nicely paved, and bordered with nice wooden railings. It’s not great for a leisurely ride tho - because there are frequent stop signs and crossings across very busy streets. We couldn’t seem to go for longer than 1/2 mile without a stop.
The Tri-Community Greenway is such a great spot for a laid-back day out, whether you’re biking, walking, or just want to get some fresh air. As someone who loves casual outdoor activities, I’ve really come to appreciate this greenway. The path is smooth and well-maintained, stretching for about 6.
The Tri-Community Greenway is a multi-use (walk, bike, jog, etc) trial that is approx 6.5 miles long. The trail connects schools, parks and public transit in Stoneham, Winchester and Woburn. It is both a great place to relax and an alternate way to commute.
Terrific shared-use path that connects recreational and commercial areas in Stoneham, Woburn and Winchester that have always been challenging to access for pedestrians without a car.

The practical stuff
- AccessHours vary — hours are not posted for this trail, so check before an early or late run
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
