Truly spectacular trail that winds around the pines through unforgettable landscape. If you aren't up to hiking the Pacific Crest Trail and/or have limited time this gently sloping trail will give you some insights into the natural landscape just outside the town of Truckee.
Sorry Sumo, casinos are in Nevada and this is in California. You have to enjoy outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, viewing wildlife, panning for gold, horseback riding, swimming, boating and rafting. The slots are an hour away. Next time try Donner Lake. It’s only a mile away.
What a perfect way to spend the day! We went in the fall, and the leaves were turning, air was crisp and the paths and beaches were not crowded. Gorgeous views along the Truckee River and Lake Tahoe. Having an ebike made this enjoyable. We went 17 miles, from Palisades to Tahoe City and back.
Perfect trail for seeing people from the neighborhood walking their dogs! Paved and most of the snow/ice has been cleared but there are still some snowy parts. Fun area next to the parking lot where people are sledding.
