Confirmed from Tulip Springs' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed recreation area for hiking, picnics, camping and waterfalls.
What runners say about Tulip Springs
“Overall the trails are well maintained (by amazing volunteers and scouts) and worth a visit.”
“Very beautiful place to bring the family, we had a great time in the springs.”
“Love it at Tulip Springs, it's quiet, calm gives you a peaceful feeling and clean.”
I wanted to hike a nice, easy loop trail. You can access the Turtle Back (Orange) loop trail from the parking area at Tulip Springs. The trail is a nice, woodland trail that’s more roots than rocks. The trail is well blazed. I was able to jog without getting off-trail, even though I had never been on the trail before.
Well marked Trails... a small but very nice waterfall..I think it will be better to go after a rainfall so you can see more water flowing....not stroller friendly..
Great place to spend few hours on a weekend. Nice trails around the park to walk with friends.
Nice area cut out of the suburbs. You can hike, yet be close enough that getting lost isn’t much of a worry. Lots of roots and rocks to maneuver through which I like. . My complaint would be that all of the lights in the parking lot are out. I have watched them die out 1 by 1 in the last year or so.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
