Confirmed from Upper Otay Reservoir Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Upper Otay Reservoir Trailhead
“It’s a beautiful location to enjoy the outdoors with friends and family, from hiking to mountain biking and many more!”
“Best to walk away from highway as much as possible to really enjoy nature and quiet.”
I always come here to jog. The trails link up nicely, which makes for good circuits. There are also excellent views and not too many visitors on the less visited areas. However, if you are going to jog here, be aware that the trail is pretty rocky and unforgiving if you don't have proper footwear (in some parts).
The trial is well maintained and the hike is pretty easy. The inclines/declines are not too crazy. I saw many people hiking/biking as well. Cool little spot.
Very fun trail lots or nature on both sides, it seemed like a good trail for bike as well as there were a few scattered trail bicycles out and about!!
Super cool hiking, mountain biking trail. Connected to horseshoe mt. And proctor valley trail to eucalyptus tree area. Always a fun ride out here. Enjoy.👍
