Confirmed from Upper Providence Nature Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 3 mentions

“All I experienced was walking a beautiful serene paved pathway.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“New home construction near the last part breaks the nice relaxing serene.”

Nice mile trail. However, walked the Mildred Hess Preserve near Upper Providence Elementary School yesterday. Between my wife, me, and dog we found ~30 ticks on us. It's that time of year.

★★★★★ — Alan , May 2022

All I experienced was walking a beautiful serene paved pathway. It had a trail going into the woods then I started to walk but stopped because it's quite damp outside I just continued on the pathway that was lined with trees and beautiful homes.

★★★★★ — Larissa , May 2026

Nice little gem. Rolling, 3/4 grass, 1/4 paved. New home construction near the last part breaks the nice relaxing serene.

★★★★☆ — Nancy , Apr 2026

Great winding trail through the trees. Cool shade and breezes. Views to the west.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
