Confirmed from Valley Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Valley Lake Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (186 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 4 mentions

“Beautiful area to go for a stroll or check out the new pollinator garden the Lakeville Lion's helped install.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 7 mentions

“Great place for a serene walk, pleasant folks to pass on the trail.”

I feel this name is misleading. Sure it's a park, and yes, there is a lake there, but the valley...not impressive! Maybe it's a hidden valley? You know, like the Ranch Dressing people? I've walked my dogs there for years and have never found it.

We bike here durimg the summer. It has a nice loop around the lake. They have a ice fishing tournament in the winter. A swimming beach and nice play ground for kids. Picnic area too with pavilion and fishing doc. City did a nice job with this park

I took my niece and nephews to this park at 10pm with my dog and had a wonderful time. Peaceful and quiet. Few bugs. Great walking night. Highley recommended!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
