Confirmed from Van Cortlandt Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park with a museum, playgrounds, sports facilities, dog runs, BBQ areas, trails & more.

Growing up in NYC, didn’t realize there were so many miles of beautiful trails available right in my backyard. Spent the afternoon at Van Cortlandt Park and the trails are stunning, clean, and well maintained. Segments were isolated but saw lots of bikers.
I love this park so much. It so peaceful with its lush greenery and beautiful scenery. Theres a playground for the kiddos, track field and athletic field that i love to take walks on. And best of all the hiking trails that makes me feel like I just stepped into a storybook.
My visit to Van Cortlandt Park was a wonderful and refreshing experience. This park is one of the largest and most beautiful green spaces in the Bronx, and it offers a perfect escape from the busy city life of New York.
The park has a lot of open areas, but the infrastructure and maintenance could be improved, especially for the climb up to Vault Hill.
