Confirmed from Van Der Donck Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Riverfront park featuring benches, fish and turtles.
What runners say about Van Der Donck Park
“Very peaceful and well maintained park!”
“Great Views & Scenic Overlooks One of the standout features is the vista: from higher points in the park you can see the Hudson River and the Palisades.”
“For people wanting a green, quiet escape, this is a plus.”
“Amazing River Walk” This isn't your average park. The park is really the day lighting of part of the Saw Mill River, which is being expanded at this time. You can observe fish and at times turtles in the river. There are native plants alongside of the river.
Beautiful place to take pictures of different events at different angles. While there I saw a wedding party taking pictures overlooking the bridge and the water stream. The park is beautiful, calm and relaxing. Fine restaurants, train station, banks, fast food restaurant, are just a walk away.
I live like 2 blocks away from here. It's soooo beautiful. So far I have seen turtles and so many fish species. It's ideal for morning afternoon and night walk. The hours online are wrong because I go to this park 2 am in the morning sometimes... I highly recommend
