Confirmed from Van Dusen Preserve's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area featuring kid-friendly trails and markers.
What runners say about Van Dusen Preserve
“Beautiful hiking trails with a variety of easy to challenging day hikes available.”
“There's one area where am additionally trail maker or two may be beneficial but otherwise the trail is well marked and easy to follow.”
Nice trail, could use a little fine-tuning. The first half of the loop (if heading counter-clockwise) consisted of a lot of dead and fallen pine trees, but once you start the incline, things get greener and more lively!
Great loop. Nice steady climb to the top 850 feet. No real views but nice path. Descent is fast and easy. No need to take the bypass, it’s not that steep at all. If it’s wet, go slow or then take bypass. Overall, good workout. 2 people approximately 50 minutes to complete.
It's a great nature trail, some parts of it was steep, and the way we went was out and back not finishing the whole loop. Had a great view at the peak.
Nice little hike. Had to take note of the posted signs and trail markers so I could remain on the trail and off private property. A lil slippery with the fall leaves. Overall had a great time out there.
