Confirmed from Vanderhoof Road Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Trail along a canal popular for hiking and cycling, featuring a picnic area and ample restrooms.
What runners say about Vanderhoof Road Trailhead
“It never seems to be overloaded with people and it has indoor restrooms that are pretty clean.”
“Ample parking, very scenic going south into Clinton and the big hill north headed towards barberton is a workout in itself.”
This is a great place to park and get on the towpath. It never seems to be overloaded with people and it has indoor restrooms that are pretty clean. Also, if you go North on the trail, it's 2.4 miles until the next road crossing and if you go south, it's 2.3 miles before you cross a road again.
One of my fave trailheads. Plenty of parking and it's always clean. I've never used the restrooms so I can't comment on them, but they are available. Going south on the path I enjoy better than going north. Trail is fairly smooth and a couple of times I've seen maintenance mowing the shoulders. I give props to them.
Great place to start a ride. Head north toward Barberton for a great hill. Head south toward Canal Fulton for some great farm and wooded scenery along the canal.
A nice trailhead and features a somewhat hilly path throughout Barberton. Plenty of parking is available, and there are restrooms here too but I don't believe any water fountains are present (or at least I cannot remember any). Great place to walk or run in nature!
Trail conditions & character
“Like almost every other trailhead except the Snyder Ave trailhead, they don't have potable water which means you have to carry a lot of water if you plan on hiking any distance.”
“Plenty of parking is available, and there are restrooms here too but I don't believe any water fountains are present (or at least I cannot remember any).”
