Confirmed from Vestavia Hills Parks & Rec's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Vestavia Hills Parks & Rec

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (197 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“It's clean and there's plenty places for parents to sit and see their children no matter where they are in the park.”

It is a nice park. Lot of area to play sports and exercise. Many people use the track to run along. They have tennis courts and baseball fiends. There is also a playground located there where you can take your children.

Its very beautiful, very well equipped with state of the art swings and designer jungle gym, thats what attracted my kids. Its got a big ground with basket ball court etc but you gotta walk a steep downward slope if you're parked by the swings/jungle gym to get to the ground area.

★★★★★ — Johny , Mar 2015

Vestavia Hills park this is a really nice new ballfields. everything there looked to be in good shape it's new so It doesn't have all the wear and tear of a lot of ball fields. Vestavia hills looks like they hit a home run with this ball park. Only four ball fields but they are really nice.

★★★★☆ — Phillip , May 2024

Excellent park with venues for swimming (olympic sized pool), biking, hiking, baseball, pickleball, tennis and others. Baseball grouping has all artificial surfaces and excellent netting to protect from foul balls.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
