Confirmed from Veteran's Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Didn't spend too much time here as I'm hunting memorials for a motorcycle challenge. Although during the process it does make you stop and appreciate the sacrifices made by our veterans and those who never came home. Beautiful location near the river. Lots of bugs because bugs love water.

We visited on Memorial Day weekend. It’s a beautiful supported and maintained Veterans Memorial. The walk along the river on a beautiful morning, honoring those that serve was great. Also enjoyed the wildlife on the river.

Very nice place just to pull up to and enjoy the view from your car while eating a meal. Or take a nice stroll on the stunning Riverwalk. Nice kids playground, but close to the river so please watch them carefully! Took my kids her often when little, now as a grandma I have heart failure lol.

Veterans Park is a beautiful place for a variety of outdoor activities including fishing 🐠🎣. It's perfect for walking your dog 🐕 while enjoying the natural scenery and watching local birds 🐦. During my visit to Monroe, I especially enjoyed my early morning runs 🏃‍♂️ through the park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
