We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Violet Patch Park yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Scenic riverside green space featuring fishing, picnicking, canoeing & kayaking.
What runners say about Violet Patch Park
“It's well maintained and seems like a safe park to visit!”
“Nice spot by the river with great views.”
Violet Patch Park is perfect for accessing the Fox River Trail or just relaxing by the river. There's plenty of parking available. Parking is actually on the east side of Route 25 and only steps away from the river. There's a pedestrian bridge just north of the park, which is cool to cross.
Google maps shows this park across from route 25 on the West side, but that is actually Eagle Ridge Park and is not safe for walking with kids or dogs due to the disc golf course. Violet Patch Park is actually on the East side of Rte 25 and includes the nice walking trail and all amenities mentioned.
A nice little park on the side of the Fox River. I like how close the trail is to the river's edge. It's a peaceful area. There are a few picnic tables to hangout by. It's a pretty small park, but would be nice for a picnic under big trees. I do wish it had more permanent bathrooms instead of just porta-potties.
Small park along the river and on a river side trail. If you walk the trail north toward Montgomery you might spot an eagle or three in winter. Nice parking area, bathroom, picnic area and walking over bridge to the other side of the river.
