Confirmed from Virginia Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Hiking area also suitable for cycling, walking, and running.
What runners say about Virginia Trail
“Well maintained and mostly flat paved pathway from end to end.”
“It is a great way to get from downtown to the mall on bike or walk with a set path even great for a run.”
Great cycling, walking, running trail. Nice places to stop, and takes one through some beautiful places.
Looking for a safe and sound running trail this fits the bill. Well maintained and mostly flat paved pathway from end to end.
Great local walking path and yesterday I noticed that they are working on extending the path! This addition is awesome and will give all of us walkers/joggers/bikers a nice safe area to walk between 6am to 10pm. I read the sign today to confirm the time frame they are open.
When the weather is good I'll walk from Griswold to Sylvan. The last part of the trail before Sylvan Ave. isn't paved, but it has fine rubble to walk on. I hope that the trail will be paved as far as it can go to the end of Modesto city limits. That would be a nice run, bike ride, or long walk.
