Confirmed from Wamesit Falls Overlook's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Wamesit Falls Overlook
“It’s a beautiful place to capture nature and her scenic essence.”
One of my favorite spots in Lowell. Has a small parking lot that usually has spots open. There’s a nice paved path along the river that you can take all the way to joleen dubner park. It’s a nice peaceful walk with a few old mills to look at. From there I like to walk a bit further and get to roger hill fort park.
UPDATE: they completed construction of the two bridges that connect this trail to the concord river Greenway, excellent addition! Beautiful waterfall! There is a short paved path that follows along the water. We saw lots of mallards and wood ducks. There was also a Great Blue Heron in the tree!
Nice small place with a paved walkway and parking for 5-6 cars. Not usually crowded. Great spot to fish.
Nice place to walk and enjoy listening to the river. Too bad the trail does not go very far and you have to turn around.
Trail conditions & character
“Was surprised to find a waterfall in the urban area but you can see the local historical and industrial setting that previously used the power of this water.”
“There’s a nice paved path along the river that you can take all the way to joleen dubner park.”
“Parking was a little tight - would not recommend larger vehicles squeezing in there.”
