Confirmed from Wasson Way's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“A fantastic sub-urban level trail from Xavier University to Hyde Park for walkers, runners, bikers, and rollerbladers of all ages.”

What a nice hidden gem, If you're looking for a bike path / walking trail to go through that's clean, that's( in city) long, and actually scenic; start here. It does have planned parking spots throughout its pathway so you don't have to start near the Xavier entrance to be able to enter.

Great trail in Cincinnati! Good for all ages and pedestrian uses. Runs from Old Red Bank, through Ault Park, close to Hyde Park Plaza, past Buskens and Rookwood commons to Xavier University - so there're a lot of destinations opened up to walking and biking on this protected trail!

★★★★★ — Alisha , May 2022

Great addition to the local trail system. Some great switchbacks and a hill coming from Redbank Rd. Slight upgrade all the way to the end at Montgomery Rd. Makes the return trip a lot of fun. Several busy street crossings with traffic lights, safe but not my favorite thing to do. Nice surface.

A fantastic sub-urban level trail from Xavier University to Hyde Park for walkers, runners, bikers, and rollerbladers of all ages. Some interesting things to see on the trail. You will likely be tempted to make a stop at Busken's Bakery along the way but stay strong on your fitness journey.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, water — reported by runners
  • Stroller / wheelchairReported as smooth and step-free enough for a running stroller or a chair.
