Confirmed from Waterleaf Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Waterleaf Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (29 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 3 mentions

“Nice park, huge well maintained grass areas and a good selection of trails in the trees.”

We go to this park fairly regularly. They have been expanding the trails this past year, and it is coming along beautifully. The dog always has plenty to smell. The trails are quite lengthy as well. The forest is pleasant.

The trail is really nice! Plenty of open space and a few baseball/softball fields as well. They are currently expanding the trails but the forest is nice! Just remember to keep your eyes on the ground a few feet in front of you!

★★★★☆ — Phillip , Sep 2024

Went to ride the trails. It was still a little muddy from the rain the week before. It's a good beginner course. Definitely a good place to slowly get into non gravel trails.

★★★★☆ — Frank , May 2023

Very clean and well taken care of! It's been quiet both times we've gone. There's a nice walking trail that leads in a circle around the park.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🐕 Dog-friendly 4 mentions

“My second time here, my dog and I came across two snakes lying in the middle of the trail, one of them being a rattlesnake!”
