Confirmed from Watertown/Oconomowoc Interurban Bike Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
What runners say about Watertown/Oconomowoc Interurban Bike Trail
“It is cut directly through electrical poles so it isn’t the most scenic but the trail is flat and nicely paved.”
Great paved trail. It gets you out of town and into some nice scenery. It is a hilly at points but nothing too crazy. Also does cross a few roads that the speed limit is 55 mph so need to be aware of cars. Start of the trail has a small parking lot. There is also parking off the street.
The trail just keeps getting better. With phase 2 of 3 complete, there are now 7 miles of paved trail for everyone to enjoy. I'm looking forward to seeing its completion. They have a bike station with tools and a pump to fix your bike or top of the pressure in your bike tires.
As of March 2023, the Interurban Trail is fully paved and open from the Watertown trailhead to Hwy F (south of Ixonia). A total of 7 miles one way, 14 miles round trip. There is not any real parking at the County F end, but Watertown has great parking.
Great paved trail on a mostly flat former rail bed. Nice facility at the trailhead including a bike repair station. A real gem.
