Confirmed from Waynesville Greenway Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Kid-friendly park featuring a lake for kayaking, as well as benches by the river.
What runners say about Waynesville Greenway Park
“Quite giving it's next to busy hwy exit beautiful, not alot of traffic considering that.”
“This short walking trail along the creek may one day be a part of a larger Greenway, but for now is just a peaceful flat walking path.”
Such a wonderful place to get away for the day. you can do so many things. walking trails, dog park, take the kids to several playgrounds, frisbee golf, fishing in the river which is our own personal family favorite! it's just a fun place for family or anyone in general.
I was on a long training run. Came by that way twice. I was in pain. I was thirsty. My feet hurt. My chest hurt. Second time by, I had three more miles to go including a climb up Old Howell Road. Nice park!
Waynesville Greenway park has an entrance just before getting onto the I26 entrance ramp just after Lake Junaluska. It is a small parking lot with maybe 7 parking spots, and one of those is handicapped, too!
This short walking trail along the creek may one day be a part of a larger Greenway, but for now is just a peaceful flat walking path. No loop, and not much to it, it is pretty to walk along the creek and across from the Lake J golf course. Not usually crowded, flat, but not very long.
