Confirmed from Wedekind Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Local park with trails suitable for families and dogs.
What runners say about Wedekind Regional Park
“It offers beautiful scenery of mountains, plants (including flowers), and the city if you are willing to trek.”
“Beautiful views and dog friendly.”
Great off-leash dog walking spot. Not much shade, so go early on hot days. Will meet a lot of other dog people.
Great place to walk. And great view from the flag. Sadly every time I go there are people with their pet dogs without leashed, causing them to leave behind their dogs droppings everywhere. Wish they could respect the signs. The park provides bags for them to pick up after them.
Beautiful day 60 degrees. Take the easy way, up to more difficult. Either way, it's a nice short hike in Spanish Springs. Nice city views at the top.
Good park for walking the dogs. Trails are only semi marked but since the area is completely open with no trees it would take a miracle to get lost. I personally haven't seen any snakes but I'm sure in the summer there's a chance you could come across a rattler, especially around the rocky outcroppings.

“With Access from the South as well, there is a small pavilion and porta-potty there, though the north side only has gravel parking and a porta-potty.”

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
