Confirmed from Welsh Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a playground and trails, plus basketball and baseball fields.
What runners say about Welsh Park
“This park has a small playground and is somewhat hidden, but is is also clean.”
“Nice playground for the kids and a short and easy walking trail thru the woods.”
It's a very earthy park with hills so be prepared for a mini hike. Includes baseball field, children's playground, basketball court and just a path for people to walk on
Lovely trail surrounding a ballfield and basketball court in the middle of the woods.
I love the safety and layout of this park. Enjoyed walking around here.
This was a cute little park with trails that come from different neighborhoods. The trails are good for hiking, biking, walking, running, and more. The playground area has two separate climbing areas with slides for kids 5 & up. My two year old mastered all the climbs very well.
Trail conditions & character
“A wooded oasis with a playground, ball field, basketball court, paved walkways and lots of trails through the trees.”
“It had a nice little parking lot that overlooked the playground.”

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
