Confirmed from Weltz Conservation Area's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
This 169-acre undeveloped forested park features a walking trail, birdwatching & more.
What runners say about Weltz Conservation Area
“Nice place to walk with easy trails, has some areas shaded well by trees & some spots that are more open.”

I’m an environmentalist and a little biased but this place has a TON of diversity especially so close to route 35 and heavy development. There’s shady wet areas with blueberries and viburnums, open areas covered in switchgrass and goldenrods, drier shady areas with hickories and oaks, and really dry areas with red…
One of the less known Monmouth county parks. Good for quick hike through, visited in winter. Probably would look more impressive in spring/ early summer.
Nice field of golden rods. Many trails but mostly are similar. Easy hike but takes time if you want to go through the entire place. I didn't see any ponds though even though i checked every trail. Must be a dry season. Worth a hike.
Nice place to walk your dog. It's a small quaint area approximately 1 1/2 - 2 miles of trails. Features level grounds, so it is an easy stroll through open fields and wooded areas.

“There is also a newer entrance from Route 35 that connects the parking lot to the Sweetbriar Trail, but access to that path is currently difficult because of the overgrowth.”
