Confirmed from West Ellensburg Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Relaxed outdoor space for playing frisbee, baseball or soccer. Free-range dogs, too.
What runners say about West Ellensburg Park
“It has a gazebo with BBQ pits and tables a public restroom that is clean and even a power outlet to plug stuff in if you need it for your picnic.”
“It has a nice shaded area to say cool in the summer and because of the trees it is not nearly as windy as many of the other parks are in this windy town.”
This is our dogs favorite place to go run. Sure there is a leash law in Ellensburg, but most people let their dogs run free out here - especially if you make your way across the soccer fields and head west towards the cross-country skiing paths.
We like this park. It had a good size field behind the playground. The only stressful part is the number of loose dogs- usually with their owners but kids are running around playing and other dogs are on leashes so it's hard to feel comfortable knowing a dog you don't know coming running towards you.
My daughter is 2 and we have gone here twice once there was no one els there and we both had a blast running and climbing around. The other time there was two birthday parties happening andvit didnt feel crowded at all. Its a great park
Great family park off the beaten path. Gazebo, bathrooms, running water, nice play area. Pet friendly. Never too busy. Good place for gatherings.
