Confirmed from West Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“I grew up going to West Lake Park as a kid, and while there have been big changes, it still retains its beautiful landscape, only more updated.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 4 mentions

“There’s plenty of open space, peaceful scenery, and it’s always clean and well maintained.”

For over five years, West Lake Park has become my sanctuary—a true home away from home. Each time I set out on the water, I am greeted with a unique perspective, shaped by different trails and varying weather conditions.

This is a very nice park to bring the family. They have Basketball courts, tennis, volleyball, a water sprinkler park for the little ones. You can also rent kayaks for a 3 mile tour through narrow passageways in this immense mangrove system. They also have a paved trail along the water for walking and bike riding.

★★★★☆ — J.Lugo , Dec 2017

Beautiful place to stop by and walk around. There are few trails you can go to and all of them are worth it. There are different animals to see. You can go up to the top for a nice view, tons of trees, water and you can see a little bit of the city and you can also see the Hollywood water tower.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 9 mentions

“Sharing food and stories around the picnic tables while overlooking the tranquil waters is an experience that never fails to fill my heart with joy.”

The practical stuff

  • AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadrestrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
