Confirmed from Lake Forest Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Lake Forest Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (33 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 6 mentions

“Even if you are not fishing this is a very pleasant walk with beautiful views of the intracoastal.”

Stopped in here on a drive without knowing anything about the park. It was a weekend and still had lots of parking available. My wife and I walked 2 miles covering all of the trails at both Lake Forest Park and Anne Kolb Nature Center.

★★★★★ — Bill , Mar 2022

The entrance to Lake Forest Park is within Anne Kolbe Nature Center. Stay to the right as you drive in and you will see the path that enters the preserve next to the lake. Anne Kolbe does not allow fishing but Lake Forest Park does. Lake Forest Park has two overlook piers for fishing on the intracoastal waterway.

A hidden gem in Hollywood! Perfect for families with kid, right at the entrance there’s a fantastic, interactive educational exhibit that’s both fun and didactical. The staff are friendly, engaging, and truly passionate about teaching. You’ll also find drinks and cool souvenirs for sale.

Great place to walk. Always some form of nature to take in if you look for it. Shore birds, crabs, minnows in tidal pools, jumping fish and some that come right up to the gazebo. I'm not going to tell you my favorite trail because it's not crowded and I'd like to keep it that way.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🏞️ Scenic views 10 mentions

“Outside, the lush mangrove groves are simply stunning, great for nature lovers and photographers.”
