Confirmed from West Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

A beautiful park! A great place to have a luxurious picnic with friends. Beautiful water feature and a trail for a nice casual walk afterwards. Text the Picnic Chic for a sunset picnic during this warmer climate.

This park is very serene. My sister and I took an hour and 20 walk. I love the view and very motivational. You also see alot of people out and about walking, running, biking, exercising and pet walking. It has several bridges and options for having a longer or shorter route depending on you.

It is a great spacious quiet place with free parking, space to walk, take your pet, a beautiful lake with easy access, you have some shops nearby, you spend an extraordinary day there, excellent to plan a picnic and spend a different day. enjoy it

A very simple but beautiful park for jogging, picture taking and just relaxing with family. The walking track has a few short cuts depending on how intense you want your run to be. My favorite scenic spot has to be the foundation on the hill with a tree in the middle.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at West Lake Park

The practical stuff

  • AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • LightingRunners report lights on the path — useful for pre-dawn and after-work miles. Lighting and opening hours are separate things, so check both.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms, water — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
