Confirmed from Western Hills Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Western Hills Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (109 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 5 mentions

“Otherwise great clean park with cool features.”

🌳 shaded & cool 6 mentions

“It is covered for the majority of the park areas, has a few nice sitting areas and well shaded.”

Loved the creativity and theme of the park. In addition to the playground, various play structures are inspired by nature such as a spiderweb, dragonfly, trees, and a butterfly chrysalis. Park also includes a small walking loop about 0.2 miles long, benches, and gazebos with picnic tables.

My little kids loved this neighborhood park! It is close to a main road and you can hear and traffic. Great play set with ladders and slides and tunnels (and it's mostly shaded!). There is a nice walking path around the park, that also has other little play structures to climb on that information about different bugs.

★★★★★ — Marie , Jun 2023

Great park for kids! Multiple different toy structures with unique climbing structures. There is an adult-chuld tandem swing. Nice paved walking path.

★★★★★ — David , Oct 2019

Great park! Only downsides are that it's a little bit spread out (not so great if you're watching more than one little one) and I wish there was a fence around it.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

🚻 Restrooms 8 mentions

“Wish it had a bathroom but it's in a neighborhood and we all know what park bathrooms look like anyway *shudder*.”
