We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of William J. Robertson Nature Preserve yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Maybe not the prettiest lake but nice easy walk for us old people”

I absolutely love this place. It's beautiful and serene. There are tons of wildlife. I've seen snapping turtles, soft shelled turtles, and painted turtles everywhere. I've seen a bald eagle multiple times and various other raptors like Goshawks, falcons, owls, and red tailed hawks. Loads of geese and muskrat.

What a beautiful developing park in Rittman. You can tell by walking around that they have big plans for this place. A kayak launch, walking trails, a place to watch birds or just watch the sunset. I would have never guessed that these lakes and trails existed so close just off of 585.

Nice use of the old Box Board property. Easy level walk way and lots of wildlife.

★★★★☆ — Tim , Nov 2021

This is a great new park for the area. A ton of trails going through various pond and marsh environments. Towards the back is "Mt. Rittman" as the locals call it, a decently small hill with a decent view from the top. There are benches everywhere in this park, a few picnic areas and port a potty bathroom facilities.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
