Confirmed from Willow Bay Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a playground and walking paths running along Onondaga Lake.
What runners say about Willow Bay Park
“The bathrooms aren't clean at all, spiders, moths, flys, poop on the seats, but the park itself is breathtaking!”
“Beautiful walking path (sometimes smelly) along Onondaga Lake with views of Syracuse in the distance.”
“Very tranquil and serene except for the construction noise occasionally, I go fishing there sometimes I don't really catch allot but it's fun!”
A wonderful place to have a picnic, take a walk, spend some time with the family, or just enjoy the outdoors. Beautiful views.
Great park. Much less busy than the liverpool entrance. Clean and a great place to ride your bike and walk. I also see alot of events here as they have pavilions you can rent out.
Willow Bay Park is a beautiful and peaceful spot to enjoy the outdoors. The park is well-maintained, with plenty of green space, walking paths, and scenic views of the water. It’s perfect for a relaxing stroll, a picnic, or spending quality time with family and friends.
I've always loved this park. Beautiful walking path (sometimes smelly) along Onondaga Lake with views of Syracuse in the distance. Not usually as crowded as the other end of Onondaga Lake park. There's also a biking/skating path a little further from the lake. Both paths are a few miles long.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
