Confirmed from Wilson Dam Waterfall's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Waterfall at the foot of the Wilson Dam, with playgrounds and fishing spots.
What runners say about Wilson Dam Waterfall
“This was a lovely scenic view of mother nature!”
“Easy walk but don't follow Maps here.”
Wheelchair accessible! 5 minutes to get to the waterfall. You can see all kinds of birds. We have seen eagles almost every visit. Don’t worry about ticks or snakes. It’s a wonderful walk right next to the Tennessee River. Nice playground for kids. Great place to picnic!
2025.11.26 ~06:50, we (Abby & me) arrived at TVA Rockpile Recreation Area. Nice cool 50s_F, and we went for a long ~6 miles walk; firstly to view the Wilson Dam Waterfall at its base, and later from the Wilson Dam Overlook (off Wilson Dam Visitor Center).
Looking for something to do for free? This is it! I did not enter a site for a tour of dam. I was outside enjoying the view along the walkway. No recommendations for a dam tour. I did not know it existed when I arrived. This was a lovely scenic view of mother nature!
It was difficult to get to originally because the directions took us up to the actual dam worksite. Instead, follow the sign that says TVA Rockpile Recreation Area. There's parking, then you'll walk past the playground to get to the waterfall.

“Google maps took us to the dam overlook and not the parking lot for the waterfall.”
