Confirmed from Wintergreen Falls' own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Wintergreen Falls

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (60 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

👟 good for all levels 4 mentions

“Nice waterfall with a pretty easy trail, about a mile and a half walk from the parking lot”

Hiked this back in early April on a pleasant morning. Started at the main visitor’s center parking lot at 8:15 AM. Was a 3.4 mile hike, which took about 1 hour to get to. Only met about 5 other hikers/bikers on the trail, but no one at the falls while I was there. A nice hike.

Very easy 3.5miles out and back waterfall trail. The waterfall is 25ft. We definitely plan on hiking this trail again with my fit elderly parents.

★★★★★ — Amanda , May 2022

Great afternoon adventure. 1.5 mile hike in and 1.5 out. We were only ones there today and we spent 3 hours playing in the water. Not a hard hike, uphill on way out though. So worth it.

★★★★★ — Kip , Aug 2020

Beautiful waterfall attraction. Slippery, not easily accessible swimming hole but still fun to wade in. Many parking spots at trailhead and nobody else was at the spot today. Gorgeous trail.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
