Confirmed from Wolf Creek Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

It's a great place to walk. And there's always some great people (strangers) that we come across to have some delightful conversations.

Overall, a nice trail except for the stench from the sewage treatment plant in areas. The paved trail is nice but it gets very hot in the summer, so I can't walk the dogs on it unless I'm there first thing in the morning (which is very rare). There's shade, but not enough in the hottest months.

An easy one mile paved path along Wolf Creek. At one end is the North Star Power house with lots of mining artifacts and at the other end down by the creek is an aqueduct built about 1885. The aqueduct piped water from a reservoir below the Empire Mine Club House to the original collar of the North Star Mine.

The trail is awesome! Easy for all members of the family to enjoy. Places along the walk to go down to the creek itself and enjoy the water more closely.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
