We liked this county park. We arrived about dusk, had no problem finding an RV site, and found it pleasant but not fancy. We also did some walking in the park--it is a dispersed, somewhat underdeveloped resource at a beautiful and historic spot on the DesMoines River.
I stumbled upon this park, it seems quite popular and well taken care of. I had my dog with me , the trails offered shade and open sunny spaces. Very well maintained whether it was a grass path or dirt path. I will definitely come back to explore some more.
Very nice campground with trails, playgrounds, river access, fishing pond with dock, and many photograph opportunities. The campground host was friendly. Mature trees provide shade. Flat loops give kids a place to safely ride bikes.
