South Boaz Park offers a maze of shady trails through brushy areas, a mostly dry creek bed, and vast green spaces under shade trees for dogs to roam and play unleashed. Little League teams also practice on the playing fields. My two dogs love this place. I've made just about as many friendly acquaintances as they have.
Perfect place to let pets roam if you're alone. Otherwise, leashes are recommended if others are present. Playground areas are kid-friendly. Plenty of shade. Nice, cable bridge over a creek that's perfect for photos. We were there for wedding pics. Open field allows soccer, Frisbee, etc.
A great place to go fossil hunting. The creek dries up during the fall season and you can walk almost the whole stretch of it. There is a long suspension bridge that leads to trails on the other side of the creek. I felt very safe hiking alone; the park was well-kept.
