Confirmed from Allen Falls Trail's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

A really short, informal, but beautiful trail that leads to gorgeous waterfalls. Pretty steep at times, but not too difficult. Definitely a great place for a swim! I would recommend bringing water shoes if you plan on getting in the water as it is super rocky and slippery, but worth the somewhat treacherous climb.
Beautiful, short hike. Getting down to the basin requires a steep hike down, however I managed to do it with a 9 and 4 year old. The falls are gorgeous. There's sometimes junk there from irresponsible hikers, but it's generally not much, or nearly enough to distract from the beauty of nature.
Nice, very short hike. Trail is just off the road with a few spots to park nearby. Trail quickly opens up to view the falls from the top with space on the rocks to walk out and see up the creek. Down the trail further there is a rocky beach when one can walk out and swim.

The practical stuff
- AccessOpen 24 hours — no gate to beat, so a 5am or a 10pm run both work
- SurfaceNatural surface — easiest on the joints and the most fun, but expect roots, rocks and mud after rain
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
