Confirmed from Alumni Field's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Peaceful park with picnic areas and trails, plus basketball and volleyball courts.
What runners say about Alumni Field
“Excellent clean open park, beautiful walking track with stretching/workout stations.”
“Peaceful place with trails that go off in all different directions.”
We go for walks all the time (not so much in the winter) and play Pokémon Go while we are at it. It’s a nice park to walk around in, very peaceful trials.
Great Place to just take a walk in the woods. Bring your fishing pole. The trials touch the rivers edge many times .
Easy beautiful walk on a shady gravel path by the river. Walk. Bike ride. Jog.
A real cool little wetland park that winds and meanders through the old fishery cement tanks and streams, all running along the Musconetcong River, makes for a nice meditative walk in a mainly wooded setting.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfaceCrushed gravel — the rail-trail classic: softer than asphalt, still smooth enough for tempo work
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
