Confirmed from Alvarado Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Part of Wildcat Canyon Regional Park, this area has a playground, picnic sites & historic stonework.
What runners say about Alvarado Park
“It's very pretty, paths decently maintained, facilities well kept.”
“Beautiful park and great place for picnics and celebrations.”
Beautiful park, clean and safe, lots of hiking, lots of secluded spots to sit and contemplate life, look at the sky and the trees and maybe the secret fish pond, if you can find it.
Great park for picnics and birthday parties. Lots of spaces available for reservation, most of which are shaded. A playground, large grassy area, and river for kids to keep occupied. Public bathroom and trails for hiking. Parking is very limited, so I recommend bringing a wagon to bring in, and out, items for a party.
Great park for hiking, walking dogs, picnics and parties. I think Alvarado park hits all the marks. Clean. Accommodating. Trails are wide and defined. There are 2 large bathrooms. A play structure for kids ages 3-12. I've been having a great time at this park for decades.
Lots of dog scat that people don't pick up. lots of poison oak so be careful and vigilant. It's very pretty, paths decently maintained, facilities well kept. Should totally go and explore
