Confirmed from Clark-Boas Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Clark-Boas Trailhead

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (27 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

If you like hiking in wide open spaces, this 4 star is for you. The view is wonderful, but the wind can get strong, and there isn't a ton of shade to start out. There are no garbages, no benches, no bathrooms, and no water. It's right above a little private school, and be careful not to park in their lot.

★★★★☆ — Angela , Dec 2018

It is an ok trail head. Pretty steep but if you persist the view at the top is stupendous. I've done the hike many times. Quiet, not many people. You get a view of the whole bay area.

★★★★☆ — Nancy , May 2019

Somewhat challenging hiking trail. Steep sections and can be very muddy after raining. Great views once you hit the top.

★★★★★ — Jaime , Feb 2018

Good place to take a hike...nature is beautiful. Notbtoobmuch to share. Of you like peace and fresh air plus nature then hiking is the thing for you here

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
