Confirmed from American Tobacco Trail - Wimberly Road Crossing's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“Beautiful and very well maintained, however poorly marked ie distance locations * you are here in wake county for out of state visitors.”

Love it here, great trail. The gradual incline makes the miles pass easily. 🚴
We love to walk the Tobacco Trail with our young puppy. The trail is flat and smooth and shaded by beautiful pines and hardwood trees, especially nice on a hot summer day. You can access the trail from various points throughout the region.
One long road that was once a railway track is currently a flattened pathway acting as a trail. Though a singular stretch, it is beautifully lined up with tall trees on either side. So to walk or run or cycle on that shaded pathway is quite fun and refreshing. Note: There are multiple entries to enter the trail.
Leveled and shaded trail gets me nice and cool in hot summer. At peak time, especially on weekend, many walkers, runners and cyclists are competing for space. Occasionally, can get a bit rough.
