Confirmed from Beaver Creek Greenway's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring a paved greenway for biking and kid-friendly hiking.
What runners say about Beaver Creek Greenway
“Beautiful scenic Greenway with fountains and paved trails, perfect for walking/running/biking/skateboarding.”
“Nice paved shaded greenway along Beaver Creek with a few wooden bridge/walkway sections.”
“Great serene Greenway, has gotten crowded more in the recent years but I still love riding my bike here.”
“My dog and I walk it daily.”
I grew up walking this Greenway so I know it like the back of my hand. Beautiful scenic Greenway with fountains and paved trails, perfect for walking/running/biking/skateboarding. Lots of pokestops.
10 foot wide paved riparian trail, mostly in the shade, mostly along Lawrence Prong Branch which drains rainwater from an area bounded by Salem St, Apex Barbecue Rd, and Olive Chapel Rd. That creek intersects with Beaver Creek at the longest bridge on the trail near the trail beneath NC-540.
There is a parking lot of a decent size at the beginning. The greenway is rather shadowed, which is a plus when walking in the summer, although there are still parts that you need to walk under the direct sun.
Good playground with a variety of things to ffg o, baseball field and nice greenway trail. Also has tennis court, bathrooms, vending machine and water fountains.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeRunners describe real tree cover here — it makes a summer afternoon workable
- At the trailheadwater — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
