Confirmed from Andreas Canyon Trailhead's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

I came to Andreas Canyon for a specific reason. And did the loop hike around the River and Palm Oasis. It was quite magical and an easy hike for me. As I'm an avid hiker so I would not consider it difficult but in the middle of the trail. There is no shade, so you want to bring lots and lots of water.

Andreas Canyon is a peaceful hidden gem and a perfect trail for most hikers. The loop is just over a mile, making it an easy and enjoyable walk without feeling rushed. Lush palm trees line the canyon, creating a beautiful contrast against the stunning rock formations that surround you.

Really nice 1 mile loop. The start is very much shaded with all the trees. The running water is just beautiful and serenading. It’s not difficult or too uphill - rather it’s very nice and enjoyable! During the summer go early so it’s not scorching hot, otherwise this is highly recommended if you’re out in palm springs

I hiked this trail and had an amazing oasis experience it was truly awesome! The scenery is stunning and well worth the effort. However, I’d recommend avoiding July and August, as the heat can be extreme. If you go, be sure to carry plenty of water and apply sunscreen. This trail is a must-visit for nature lovers!

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
