Confirmed from Antenen Nature Preserve MetroPark's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

“A guy allowed his dog to defecate near grill and picnic tables and didn't clean it up.”

🏞️ beautiful scenery 8 mentions

“Parking lot is crowded but the view at the end of the trail is beautiful and you can walk right down to the river.”

🌾 quiet & peaceful 3 mentions

“It's great if you just want a quiet afternoon.”

A short, clean walking trail leads to a large rocky landscape beside Four Mile Creek. A fun place for kids to explore. There is an old abandoned house and barn on the land.

I drove almost an hour to check out the upper dam for some smallmouth fishing, but the water was too high, so I decided to head to this creek. It's an amazingly beautiful place. The creek has a nice path making it easy to get to. The water is crystal clear. There was plenty of fish there. I highly recommend it!

It isn't cared for too well but Merlyn, my dog, and I love to explore and walking along water in any form. 7 mile creek is beautiful and, if you are like me and love rocks, it is a treasure.

★★★★☆ — Iris , Dec 2020

Nice place for walking and stretching your legs. Walk to the back and you can fish or cool off in the water. The old barn has been demolished. A guy allowed his dog to defecate near grill and picnic tables and didn't clean it up. Google maps calls it Seven Mile Creek when it's actually called Four Mile Creek.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.

Plan your run at Antenen Nature Preserve MetroPark

The practical stuff

  • AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
  • SurfaceMixed — more than one surface along the route, so check the segment you plan to run
  • DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
  • ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
  • At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
  • DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
