Confirmed from Woodsdale MetroPark's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park offering kid-friendly hiking trails and picnic areas.
What runners say about Woodsdale MetroPark
“Nice scenic walk through the woods near the river.”
We have been coming here for years to run the dog. She loves it, it's quiet and creepy sometimes but drenched in history. Summer months are horrendous with mosquitoes. Any other season will do.
Wonderful walking trail, plenty of open space. My family loves walking here.
Very nice park love the nature trail hate the mosquitoes they're very bad
Beautiful. Great park. Two really nice easy trails. A few spots to get down to the river. Can get swampy in the rainy season. And the mosquitoes are relentless during summer. But fall and winter are fantastic. My furry daughter loves walking and sniffing there.

The practical stuff
- AccessDawn to dusk — the gates close, so do not plan a run that finishes after dark
- SurfacePaved — asphalt or concrete. Fast and predictable, runnable year-round, and fine with a stroller
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
