Confirmed from Appomattox River Regional Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Park featuring picnic tables and short hiking trails, as well as a river.
What runners say about Appomattox River Regional Park
Beautiful place to go. The kids loved hiking on the trails. And of course the river also. We had a great day. 🥰 Also, restrooms along the trails. Lol.
Absolutely my fav park! I love this park. I have been watching a family of 5 bald eagles… mom, dad, adult baby, adolescent baby and newer baby. Have been able to get some good pictures here and have seen a number of great natural sights including a juvenile eagle snatch a rabbit from a red tailed hawk… a blue…
Pleasant trail, albeit a little weird next to a bunch of prisons. We went midday on a Saturday and there was nobody there when we arrived. When we left, there was still plenty of parking. In this way, it's a nice park if you want some peace and isolation. Easy, short hike around the red trail and loop.
Boardwalk along the river provides a nice place to walk and enjoy nature.
