Confirmed from Arcata To Eureka Bike Trail (Northern End)'s own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Arcata To Eureka Bike Trail (Northern End)

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (9 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

Great pavement. Great off gravel trails. Good views and friendly faces. One thing is there is A LOT of invasive plants. Makes me sad to not be able to enjoy the view in some places because there is a wall of Himalayan blackberry.

★★★★☆ — Elektra , Jun 2023

The newly opened two lane paved trail has been a long time coming! Right now it there is still a segment that needs to be constructed along the bay, the folks behind the project are still seeking funding for the ultimate completion, but since the grand opening was a few days ago, it seems worthy of mapping.

★★★★☆ — Jeremy , Nov 2017

The trail is very good; the only thing missing, and I don't know if it would be easy, would be the installation of portable toilets and a water fountain.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
