Confirmed from Aronson Island's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Aronson Island

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (54 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“A paved walk/bike path leads to the east entrance to the harbor and a beautiful observation of Little Bay de Noc.”

Just amazed. It was rainy and cold and I still thought it was a great spot to walk, swim, play frisbee golf and eat lunch.

★★★★★ — J , Jul 2025

Great little island that creates a natural protected harbor for Escanaba. There is a public boat launch that cost about $4 to use that provided access to the little Bay De Noc and Lake Michigan as a whole. There is a pretty decent path that extends to the tip of the island with benches along it.

★★★★★ — Colby , Jun 2021

North wing: Nice view of the marina with a boat launch. A tree buffer runs along the east side of the road to the beach that's an extension of the city beach. A paved walk/bike path leads to the east entrance to the harbor and a beautiful observation of Little Bay de Noc. South wing: provides plenty of beach parking.

While in Escanaba, we sometimes like to see the lake, so we come to the Aronson Island area to get out and walk. It is a really nice Park, nice to walk or bike in. In the summer, swimming can be done.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
