Confirmed from Ashwaubomay Lake Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.
Seasonal place for swimming with a sandy beach, play equipment, volleyball court & other amenities.
What runners say about Ashwaubomay Lake Park
“Definitely worth a stop it is a very nice park that is clean and well maintained.”
“Very nice park with scenic views of nature, rivers, highway 172 in the distance, etc.”
“I can't say enough great things, truly a well maintained family friendly place.”
So many happy memories here. One of my fav parks for me and a former childhood friend tk take the dog on walks. Lots of ppl go here to swim in the summer or drop there boat in the water. I go here now to heal and be sound nature. Plenty of ball parks. New home 2 GB’s Art fair that used to be down town and so confined.
Amazing place to just take a drive, slow and relaxed. It is right besides the Fox river, and there are good parking places everywhere around the drive loop. Amazing play area for kids. Really good quality play equipments like swings, slides and much more.
I've been coming here since I was a kid. I first went to the man made pond. While I haven't been there 5+ years, you can see it's still well maintained and all the attractions (playground, slides, volleyball, diving boards, concessions, etc) are still available.
It seems as though they are in the process of improving this park. They recently added a paved walking path that circles the exterior of the swimming area. That has upgraded the whole walking experience. The walking trails were helped with the addition of a bridge spanning an inlet near the Fox River.

The practical stuff
- AccessPosted hours — posted hours below; park gates sometimes close earlier than the listing says
- DistanceNot reported. Trail systems often quote total path mileage rather than a single loop, so measure the route you actually want before you drive out.
- ShadeNot reported. Assume some of it is exposed and carry water in summer.
- At the trailheadparking, restrooms — reported by runners
- DogsWelcome, per reviewers. Leash rules vary by park — the trailhead sign is the authority.
