We have not been able to confirm the surface, distance or shape of Aspen Nature Trail yet from its own listing, the park's website or runner reviews — so those cells stay blank rather than guess. What is below comes straight from the listing and from reviewers' own words. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

What runners say about Aspen Nature Trail

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (44 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

🏞️ beautiful scenery 5 mentions

“The top trail allows a great view of the canyon.”

👟 good for all levels 3 mentions

“Nevertheless, we had a nice little easy walk and saw a good sized deer while walking back to our Jeep.”

Simple trail through the aspen trees and a beaver damn at the end. I don't think there are currently any beavers around. This also looks like a good cross country skiing area!

We stopped and walked the trail to stretch our legs and we were so happy we did. We walked all the way to the beaver pool but it was dried up. A beautiful tra.

I know this sounds far fetched. But this is the best hike I have ever taken

★★★★★ — Daniel , Jun 2018

All the hype about the beaver dam had us excited to stop here and stretch our legs and use the facilities. However, sadly, the pond was almost completely dry and the dam had been dismantled and strewn about the edges of the remains of the pond.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
