July 2020. Per literature, the trail is 3 miles round-trip, difficult level: moderate to strenuous, and 200ft elevation change. That elevation is the difference between the beginning of the trail and the end of the trail. There is a lot of hiking down and up before you get to the end.
I don't think i could have asked for a better trail for kids that love dinosaurs. The trail is just long enough, about 1.8 miles round trip, and down by the lake you can explore and look for the dinosaur tracks. There are several that may be covered with small debris and my just look like rock depressions.
Once at the parking area you’ll head up on the trail. There are a few markings along the trail to help keep you in line. You can also look for the dinosaur foot print as well, fun for kids to do. We went with a group to the edge of the lake for a little swim and relaxing rest before heading back.
The Red Fleet Dinosaur Track Site Trail is incredibly scenic, and the dinosaur tracks were awesome! There were multiple dinosaur tracks that were well preserved and a beautiful view of the reservoir at the end of the trail. AllTrails reports that the trail is 1.
