Confirmed from Avalon Park's own listing, the park or land manager's website, and runner reviews. Blank cells mean we could not verify that fact — we would rather say "not reported" than invent one. There is no Easy / Moderate / Hard rating on this page on purpose: a one-word difficulty score tells you nothing about whether a trail suits your run. Surface, distance, shade and hours do.

Well-kept park featuring a playground and benches, plus a fenced-in dog park area.

What runners say about Avalon Park

Pulled from public reviews of this trail (321 of them) — the things people bring up again and again, in their own words. Nothing here is written by us.

well-maintained 8 mentions

“Soccer practice field, fenced dog park, nice jungle gym, covered picnic areas, bathroom facility, great view, and clean and free of graffiti!”

🌳 shaded & cool 5 mentions

“There is a shaded area with picnic bench, 2 other benches in the park, tubes for dogs to run through, watering hole, and plenty of poop picker-upper bags/shovels.”

Very nicely maintained park. Owners pick up after their dogs and there's a lot of room to run. My son also is able to play at the park while I'm at the dog park without being out of sight.

My 75 lb Labradoodle loves it and there's plenty of room to get a run going. The gate is a ways from the parking lot and he pulls HARD on the leash because he's excited to get in (so this is a struggle for me ) There were an average of 8 dogs there, all varieties and temperaments.

We asked for this park a few years ago . It’s a friendly park, small and big dogs mixed . Nicely fenced in with 2 dog friendly entrances . Sara / Dylan’s dog park is more handicapped accessible . If your dog does his/ her business on the hillside you have to climb the hill .

★★★★★ — Laurie , Feb 2020

I bring my 5 month old pup here to socialize. Great experiences for her. Only bad thing is no lights for at night. There is a shaded area with picnic bench, 2 other benches in the park, tubes for dogs to run through, watering hole, and plenty of poop picker-upper bags/shovels. Is only one fence for all dog types.

Trail conditions & character

What this trail is actually like underfoot and overhead, taken from its own listing and from reviews. Each one links to every other trail with the same character. Busy or quiet is reported as a plain fact, not a plus or a minus — a runner heading out alone at dawn often wants company on the path, and someone running intervals wants an empty one.
